Your little ones will find plenty of fun and excitement at the Garnet A. Wilson Public Library! Each branch has an area specifically designated for children, complete with great books and lots of fun games and toys. Each branch also offers entertaining activities for children to enjoy. At the main branch, in Waverly, preschool storytimes are offered for children ages 3-5, and toddler storytimes are offered for kids 18 months of age to 3 years old. Storytimes are a wonderful way to present children with new stories, songs, puppets, poetry, and crafts. The Summer Reading Program is a six week event designed for children in preschool through the 8th grade. It encourages children to read and reinforce their reading skills acquired during the school year. There are a number of holiday parties during the year, including pumpking painting in October and various activities to celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, and Easter, as well as other special activities year-round. Please see the calendar of events for all the scheduled children’s programs, or call the branch you visit for more information.
